VP Giggles is an insult to Latinos.

Part I: Democrats Are Wrong on the Issues

The GOP swept key Texas mayoral races last Saturday, primarily because of surging Hispanic support, and the DNC is getting worried. Democrats once believed the Coalition of the Ascendant (all non-whites) viewed Anglo-American culture as non-inclusive. Thus, former governor Bill Richardson (D-NM) could crow, “the Hispanic community is going to stay with the Democratic Party, [so] to the Republicans I say you have no shot.” Immigrants were supposed to render the GOP obsolete.

Recent results prove Richardson’s wrong, beginning with Donald “The Wall” Trump attracting more – not fewer – minority voters after four years in office. Biden’s share of the Hispanic vote was 8 points less than Clinton’s. So, with total Hispanic votes up 31% in 2020, that 8% shift to the GOP means “new” Hispanic voters rejected Biden’s out-of-touch politics – because immigrants mostly vote self-survival issues (employment and affordable housing) and mostly ignore self-awareness issues (abortion and asexual pronouns).

GOP strategist Steve Cortes sees an “accelerating macro realignment as Hispanics rally to America First.” Even in Biden’s close-call swing states, Democrats lost Hispanic voters: down 4% in Georgia, 5% in Arizona, 6% in Pennsylvania, 8% in Nevada, and 9% in Wisconsin. This shift ranged from 6% for Mexican-Americans to 13% for Cuban-Americans. And, after the liberal hype about Texas in 2020, NO Democrat even qualified for the May run-off election in the state’s 6th district.

Texas kept trending GOP in June’s mayoral elections: Jim Ross won in suburban Arlington, millennial Mattie Parker won in urban Fort Worth, and Javier Villalobos shocked in border-town McAllen, where 85% of the electorate is Hispanic and Joe Biden won by 17 points. Villalobos is the first GOP mayor EVER in the city of 185,000. Bad news for the DNC, as confirmed by Democrat consultancy Catalist last week. Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) recently explained why.

Progressives should weep, because Scott’s internal GOP data suggest immigrants arrive with their own values. Topping the most-shocking list is 72% of Hispanic voters support a secure southern border, in spite of Democrats demonizing THE WALL as a “dog whistle” for alt-right Republicans. It’s likely McAllen’s Hispanic voters actually know what societal problems come with illegal immigrants after seeing the humanitarian crisis firsthand.

80% of all Hispanic voters believe US public schools are failing and their kids are falling behind the rest of the world, so Republicans should keep exposing the cozy relation between Democrats and teacher unions (NEA and AFT). A majority of Hispanic voters (65%) support charter schools and vouchers that Democrats oppose to get union money and votes (source: AFFC). Hispanic parents came for opportunity and want their kids to inherit the American dream.

Anyone familiar with Latin America knows why 67% of Hispanic voters believe younger Americans are losing the traditional values of faith, family and freedom. It’s progressive folly to think Latin Americans dump their traditions at the border. To wit, Pew Research reports 77% of Hispanic voters are Christians, and Oxford (UK) reports a majority of Latin Americans trace their lineage back to colonial Spain, meaning cancel culture is unwelcome in most Hispanic households.

It’s bad news for Democrats that 58% of Hispanic voters think too few Americans want to work and too many want to live off government assistance. Duh, they came to America for gainful employment and overwhelmingly (83%) reject socialism. The GOP knows Hispanic-owned businesses grew by 40.2% between 2012 and 2018; double the growth rate for all US businesses. 4.5 million Hispanic business owners don’t want new regulations and taxes.

Part II: Kamala “Giggles” Harris Is An Insult

Joe Biden put Kamala Harris in charge of the border crisis in February. And, because she’s yet to visit the Mexican border, NBC’s Lester Holt pressed her Tuesday about the no-show: “You haven’t been to the border.” Good question that got a petulant answer: “And I haven’t been to Europe!” Really? 72% of Hispanic voters want border security to stop the humanitarian crisis they see in real time, so a flip answer from Vice President Giggles is a slap in the face.

Latin Americans can dislike Trump’s words and still like his policies (because they work), but Biden-Harris clung to an old idea that illegal immigration actually prevented inflation (USA) and social unrest (Latin America). They campaigned against Trump’s policies and adopted an odd talking point; “an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal” (rough Spanish translation: come on up and come on in). This wasn’t appreciated in Latin America’s capitols.

A week ago, before Harris arrived, Guatemalan President Giammattei described to CBS the change from Trump to Biden: “The message changed to ‘we are going to reunite families and reunite children.’ The very next day the coyotes here were organizing groups of children to take them to the United States. We asked the (US) government to send more of a clear message to prevent more people from leaving.” In other words, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Latin American leaders know the effectiveness of the Remain In Mexico program (no asylum seekers on US soil and Mexican soldiers to deter migrant caravans), because they saw cross-border criminal cartels hurt by it. Trump had sent a loud signal and choked the illegal activity of coyotes and drug gangs that recruited and abused the naive and vulnerable. Giammattei knows those are his citizens being recruited by MS-13 and left for dead by coyotes.

Because President Trump had marketed illegal immigration as an attack on US sovereignty, Biden-Harris ran against America First and ignored the humanitarian problems. Too bad for Harris that Los Otros Americanos watch Hispanic TV coverage of a worsening humanitarian crisis, because she was met by Guatemalan protestors with Mind Your Own Business signs. Harris quickly flip-flopped to a new talking point: “Do not come. Do not come.”

Latin Americans here and abroad are discovering Democrats have two problematic masters; a white Liberal Vanguard that is NOT culturally aligned with Hispanic voters, and black activists who will NOT share resources with another out-group. If 60,000,000 US Hispanics and 731,000,000 Latin Americans know socialism doesn’t work and crime cartels ruin Latin Lives, then Biden-Harris are turning a stampede of Hispanic voters toward the GOP in 2022 and 2024.
