We observe only this: Justice Jackson decries an imperial Executive while embracing an imperial Judiciary.

Associate Justice Amy Coney Barrett (Friday’s majority opinion)

One sensed the left-liberal despair the day after President Trump’s re-election – and why not? After eight years of coordinated attacks from his political rivals and their bureaucratic and media cronies, his numbers proved he had emerged stronger than ever: winner of 31 states, 312 electoral votes, 77.3 million total votes, increased share of the popular vote in all 50 states, and control of Congress.

In the months that followed, one saw mad-liberal words and deeds sinking Democrats and legacy media into record-low approval ratings. Because 80% of Americans dislike profanity-laced insults, bull-rushing prison guards, and opposition to the 80-20 policies that elected Republicans in November. The result is rising approval numbers for Mr. Trump (53% in latest Accu-poll). Still, who imagined such a week as he just enjoyed?

High Court’s Conservatives Deliver

The Supreme Court’s 6-3 conservative majority restored “constitutional order” to America by halting activist district-court judges  from issuing nationwide injunctions, which were “broader than necessary” to stymie executive orders. From now on, a district-court ruling must be “as narrow as possible” in order to not impact people who are not part of a specific case.

In the majority opinion, Justice Barrett explained that “universal injunctions” from district courts “exceed the equitable authority that Congress has granted to federal courts.” In other rulings, the six conservatives proved that “defending our democracy” means accepting the consequences of elections (2024 voters wanted to cut government costs, deport illegal aliens, and kill DEI policies). If you’re keeping score, this means…

Trump can fire federal employees, terminate education grants, deport immigrants to wherever, end refugee status, and boot transgenders from the military. DOGE can access social security records. States can defund Planned Parenthood, and ban certain medical care for transgender minors. Parents can pull students from LGBTQ book readings, and majority-group Americans can’t be subject to reverse discrimination.

A World Awed by Operation Midnight Hammer

Ten days ago, fourteen airmen flew seven stealth bombers thirty-six hours to obliterate derail Iran’s nuclear-arms program with twelve 30,000-pound bombs, while US submarines added thirty Tomahawk missiles. The flawless mission began fifteen years ago, went undetected, lost no American lives, and forced Iran into a ceasefire. But CNN and Chuck Schumer were not satisfied; they want a GOP Benghazi!

That Defense Threat Reduction Agency team executed “Operation Midnight Hammer” well enough to leave America’s rivals and allies alike thunderstruck by its precision and results. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine put it best: “Operation Midnight Hammer was the culmination of 15 years of incredible work. Our adversaries around the world should know that there are other DTRA team members out there studying targets for the same amount of time, and will continue to do so.”

America’s Golden Age Begins

Every president promises peace and prosperity, but Mr. Trump is actually delivering; starting with the aforementioned ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Last week, almost every NATO member agreed to spend 5% of their GDP on defense, and the President hosted the signing of a peace deal between Rwanda and the Congo.

The total of private investment in the US under Trump just hit “$15 trillion” ($9T confirmed), and Senate leader Thune just advanced the Big Beautiful Bill. Even better, May’s non-adjusted federal deficit ($219B) was down 17% from 2024, due to a 15% increase in receipts ($371 billion), 400% increase in tariffs ($22 billion), and 10% drop in interest paid ($92 billion), all compared to 2024.

Year to date, US government revenue ($3.48 trillion) is up $194 billion over 2024, helped by a whopping $121 billion in tariff receipts – and that’s not all. The average hourly wage ($36.24) is up 3.6%, the annual inflation rate is 2.4%, the retail price of petrol has dropped 3%, grocery prices have declined the most in five years, and average home prices are holding steady (up 1.3%). And, to my friend Jay, the S&P (6,173) and NASDAQ (20,273) closed at record highs on Friday. How’s that for prosperity?

Icing on the Cake

While Israel and the US were neutering Iran this month, it became obvious the China-Russia-Iran Axis was crumbling. After watching Operation Midnight Hammer, the outrage in Beijing and Moscow was notably muted. China sent no armaments and ordered its Iranian lackey to keep the Strait of Hormuz open to keep 50% of China’s oil flowing. Russia sent no weapons, offered to mediate an Israel-Iran peace deal, and exits the Middle East exposed as a useless ally.

At this moment a year ago, President Biden was muttering “we finally beat Medicare” and a dozen other campaign-killing flubs. I think of that moment, in contrast to the best week that I can recall any US president having. It’s 8:30 Sunday morning as I write, and a glorious sun is shining upon America.
