There seems to be a stigma in the African American community regarding Republicans. Black people have overwhelmingly supported Democrats for 50 to 60 years, and yet nothing has changed. So something needs to change.

Ice Cube (on Full Send Podcast)

I’ve met Tim Scott, heard him address an audience, and believe he would defeat Joe Biden because he’s the right GOP strategy. Simply stated, the enemy is woke Democrats, the battlefield is statewide elections, and the tactic is peel off black votes. 2024 reminds me of 1980, when Ronald Reagan knew the enemy was big-government Democrats, peeled off over-taxed voters, and carried 12 new GOP senators on his coattails.

Statewide elections are today’s battlefield. In 2020, Biden won America’s urban areas, but only 23.6% of its counties. In 2022, Democrats won only 44.6% of statehouse seats, but they won US senate elections in Georgia and Pennsylvania – by winning urban areas (see map above) where black voters are clustered. Take Chicago, where 66% of the voters are black and Gov. Pritzker (D) won 90% of their vote. This black-urban tactical advantage is illustrated in the swing-state chart below: cities help Democrats win statewide elections.

The “situational politics” of FDR’s New Deal attracted hordes of poor black voters in the thirties. And, thanks to Nixon’s “southern strategy” and Trump’s “MAGA rallies,” Democrats have created a trance of obedience that allows so-called liberals to call Tim Scott (R-SC) “Uncle Tom” and Larry Elder (R-CA) “the black face of white supremacy” without black Democrats saying peep. Nominate Tim Scott and black voters will hear him hated ad nauseam.

Tim Scott can expose Democrats as the real “cult” that oppressed blacks for 100 years, carved Israel out of brown-skinned Arab lands, sprayed Agent Orange on Asians, ignored Clinton’s sexual predations, and eulogized klansman Robert Byrd (D-WV). Tim Scott can remind black voters of the “promissory note” Dr. King wanted Democrats to pay off with better schools in black districts, fewer criminals in black precincts, and less low-wage labor sneaking across the southern border. But no!

Democrats subsidized green industries, bailed out public-employee unions, and helped Bill Clinton ($120M), Barack Obama ($70M), and Nancy Pelosi ($114M) get rich (source: Open Secrets). By the way, the Obamas entered the White House with $3.6 million and, while they amassed their fortune, the median wealth for black Americans remained flat (source: Brookings). This grift goes on because Democrats run the cities and know only 6% of registered black voters say they’d back a Republican for Congress (source: Pew Research 2022).

Since 2016, I have heard more prominent blacks noting the “trance of obedience” that has Democrats overconfident in their ability to frighten blacks into their win column. It can be a vile opinion like Biden’s October 2021 speech: “Domestic terrorism from white supremacists is the most lethal terrorist threat in the homeland” – or dumb claim like Chuck Schumer’s reaction to Thursday’s 9-0 high-court ruling: “This MAGA Supreme Court is continuing to erode our country’s environmental laws.”

It is reckless to allege justices Kagan, Jackson, and Sotomayor support a MAGA agenda, when the “liberals” voted to (sensibly) restrict the EPA’s ability to regulate the pond on your grandpa’s farm. This is the thinking trap of DNC math; frighten 30% of the electorate who are “liberal” single-issue voters – 10% pro-green, 10% pro-abortion, 10% anti-white privilege – and count on Donald Trump to scare the other 21%. It’s a fear-and-loathing message that worked in 2018, 2020, and 2022.

The view here is the eco-extremists and feminists are actually voting their self-interest (not the same as being wise) but African-Americans are not. 83% are Christian, and 65% oppose abortion under any circumstances (source: Gallup). 60% of black men are in jobs where wages are depressed by low-skilled illegal immigrants (source: Newsweek). Black Americans ARE very traditional, including party loyalty, but hurt most by today’s Democrat agenda.

The good news is RNC chair Ronna McDaniel recognized this Democrat vulnerability and recruited black candidates like Rep. John James (MI). If you doubt her wisdom, listen to Virginia lieutenant governor, Winsome Sears: “We may all have come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now. Our children are not victims, they have a God-given spark.” That’s true and why leftist Joy Reid refused Sears’ offer to talk on MSNBC. It’s time to smoke the real racists out. Look at how black Democrats talk about Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Tim Scott (hardly white supremacists).

CNN’s Don Lemon said (female) Nikki Haley “isn’t in her prime” and told (equally dark-skinned) Vivek Ramaswamy, “you’re sitting here – whatever ethnicity you are – explaining to me what it’s like to be black in America. When you live in this country, then you can disagree with me.” After Tim Scott announced his run for president, The View’s Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin said he’s out of touch with “real” black men, because he has “Clarence Thomas Syndrome.”

Not to be outdone, white co-host Joy Behar trashed Scott for his optimism, self-reliance, and independent thought. After calling him “Professor Positive,” she said Scott “believes in pulling yourself by your bootstraps, rather than – like me – understanding the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country.”

Boom! Nothing like a black Democrat telling an equally black Republican he doesn’t know “what it’s like to be black in America,” or a white Democrat saying a black Republican doesn’t understand “the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country.” A GOP campaign ad is in there somewhere, but Senator Scott didn’t hesitate to fight back with the truth.

“My life disproves the lies of the radical left [whose] culture of victimhood is eating away at the soul of America. You can be bitter or better, but you can’t be both. Meekness is not weakness. I believe in the Gospel – ‘Love your enemies’ – [but] if you break in my house, I also believe in the Second Amendment.” Scott is the “conservative” Democrats don’t want to face (along with Haley). That alone qualifies both, because Biden’s killing our country.

But there’s more. Tim Scott has Ronald Reagan’s optimism about America, faith in free individuals, and authenticity. Reagan really was once a Democrat. Scott really did see the end of “Jim Crow” South Carolina – which is to say they know WHY they are conservative Republicans. Which is to say Tim Scott could surprise – and be one heck of a president!
