LEARN TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE PANDEMIC

I have hit a wall with Covid. I’ve done every stage of this pandemic: wore the mask (or two), sprayed down groceries, had my nostrils violated, canceled plans, stayed home, and got the vaccine the moment I could. But some 650 days into “flattening the curve,” I’m done.

Bari Weiss (cancelled New York Times editor)

The guess here is that Bari Weiss speaks for most Americans, because everyone has a breaking point. It’s why Tina Turner left Ike – and New Yorkers moved en masse to Florida in 2021. After 650 days, the US is beset with battle fatigue, after a president, once vainglorious, no longer wants to be The Man in a war he promised to win:

If you hear nothing else I say tonight, hear this. Anyone that is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America. I will take care of this. I will end this. I’m going to shut down the virus, not the country.

Right now, America needs Winston (“we shall never surrender”) Churchill instead of Joe (“no federal solution”) Biden.

COVID arrived on America’s shores in December 2019. Within two years, 705,000 Americans had died and many small businesses had permanently closed (10% of all US restaurants, costing 5.9 million jobs). In comparison, the US was in World War I 18 months and lost 117,000 military. After two years of World War II, the US had victories in Midway, North Africa and Guadalcanal to show for its effort. Other than Operation Warp Speed, name a victory over COVID.

Bari Weiss is not alone in her “I’m done” cries, because Biden is the worst US leader – ever – and he can’t be dumped until 2024. Just how bad is he?

ONE – He invited the vaccine-skeptic wave by pausing the J&J vaccine on April 12 because of 6 blood clots in 6,800,000 patients. As the chart below depicts, vaccine jabs were sky-rocketing until his science scared the already-nervous away.

TWO – He early-called “victory” in July, after the Delta variant was already on the radar screens of world health organizations, then resorted to mandates, fines and firings to forces masks and vaccines on a weary nation.

THREE – He proclaimed himself the “science president” while practicing politics at every turn, hitting rock bottom with a mandate to provide young (low risk) non-whites with all COVID treatments before old (high risk) whites. And his top scientist, Anthony Fauci, thinks a Republican senator is the “moron” in Washington.

So, yeah, learn to stop worrying and love the pandemic…because this president has mailed it in…or you can bitch on Facebook and make your family and friends feel even worse (until the mid-terms give them something to cheer about).
