Candidate Biden promised to “restore normalcy” to the presidency. He lied, unless normalcy is Chinese diplomats dissing America on US soil and an immigrant crisis on the border. In his heart, Biden feels a fork-tongued failure and, therefore, bans his staff from saying “crisis” on air. Not since Baghdad Bob, with US bombs falling behind him, proclaimed “no American infidels” in Iraq has a government so blatantly lied to its people.
Sadly, despite data that suggests otherwise, Biden blames the border crisis on Trump. It’s probable he initiated this problem in the Democrat debates: “I would make sure we immediately surge to the border all those people seeking asylum…if you’re fleeing oppression, you should come.” Those talking points answered a question from Univision’s Jorge Ramos because candidate Biden needed Hispanic votes in Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada.
Those silly Central Americans, don’t they know Democrats lie out of convenience to get elected? Facing a tidal wave of aliens on the Mexican border, President Biden changed his tune: “I can say quite clearly: don’t come” (source: ABC News). Another lie – when his advisor Susan Rice said, “We made the choice that we don’t want to be the administration that has to turn back kids,” and DHS Secretary Mayorkas said, “we’re not saying don’t come, we’re saying don’t come now,” and Mexico’s president blames the crisis on Biden’s executive orders that reversed Trump’s immigration policies.
When Biden killed the remain-in-Mexico protocol that kept asylum seekers out of the US, he restored catch-and-release protocols that allow court-skipping aliens to get lost in America. When he stopped work on the border wall, he signaled “open borders” to the world. When Pelosi introduced the U. S. Citizenship Act, it signaled “immigrant amnesty” to the world. Biden tripping up the stairs to his jet is an apt metaphor for his border security.
It’s now clear Biden never cared about border security. A senior DHS official told the Washington Post that “career folks” issued sober alarms to Biden‘s transition team and “they should have been better prepared.” A senior CBP official told Fox News the President “knew it was going to happen [and] the response has been merely to manage the processing – not stem the tide.” Asked if she would visit the border, Kamala Harris laughed, “not today!”
Team Biden’s words – don’t come now…the process of getting set up’s not going to take a long time…making sure we re-establish what existed before – suggest ICE and CBP are being changed to process MORE immigrants, not prevent illegal crossings. Thus, avoiding “crisis” sound bites is political deception, because Democrats believe flooding the sunbelt with immigrant voters is essential to flipping red states (see Arizona). Mind you, this all supposes Biden isn’t full of malarkey.
Democrats forget Latinos bring their own traditions to American. True, and they are alienated by the cultural modernism that Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) blamed for the 2020 uptick in Hispanic support for Trump. The Hispanic Cuellar blames his party’s “progressive ideas” for alienating Texas Latinos: Trump won 53% of the vote in heavily-Hispanic Zapata county, after losing it by 33% in 2016. Cuellar says green energy, defund the police, and open borders repel the Hispanic vote.
Mr. Biden is the poster child for idiocracy; losing Main Street to bring in immigrants that MAYBE will vote for him. This is my beef with Democrats; folks that do one thing poorly tend to do all things poorly. I’ve always thought they (mostly) meant well, but just fumbled their solutions. Big finish: how does bringing in millions of unskilled workers help advance America toward the Green New Deal? Buh Duh, Biden!
